Thataside, my wife currently has a 98 s70 with 240k miles that runs like a top. My last Volvo was a 92 740 with 400k miles that was running great when I sold it. I had an 89 740 with 250k miles that never missed a beat, til my buddy drove it into 4 feet of water (flooded road), they don't make good boats. But great cars, and easy to work on, yes.
Purchasebudget is max. $45,500 (extended warranties excluded). Got quoted on a 2018 Volvo XC60 T6 w/25,000 miles for $42,000, extended warranty is ~$4000 for 5yr/100,000 miles "bumper to bumper" from a used imported cars/sports cars dealership. I have a 2020 T5 Inscription, and have no complaints.
Thistype of crash is so deadly due to when you are hit in the front 25% of the vehicle, it drives the front wheel right into the driver usually resulting in death or severe injury. Volvo started this testing with the XC60 and has moved its technology onto the other newer models. Source:Volvo mechanic for 16yrs. Exceptfor that I can mostly come up with negatives. Its not very reliable or cheap to maintain, not aerodynamic so fuel efficiency is poor. Buy if the looks really matter. If not, Subaru is the closest competitor in terms of features and their vehicles are both cheaper and more reliable. r/whatcarshouldIbuy. BMWX5. Volvo XC60. Volvo XC90. Budget: Approx $40k, used. We save up half and will be paying off our current car next week so we just have to wait for the title and then we will be shopping. Came across a 2010 Volvo XC90 on fb marketplace after putting a post up looking for a first car. The car has 92k miles and appears to have been well looked after and maintained, with a clean title. MostVolvos are AWD. They’re very good and quite reliable. I’ve had two 2.5l XC70s make it deep into the 250k mile area. Then they were sold to someone who drove it further. We currently have a 3.2L XC70 and it’s the most comfortable and lowest cost of ownership car we’ve ever owned.
Buyinga used volvo (V70) I've never owned a volvo before so I'm just curious if anybody has any suggestions/advice when looking at a used one. The car in question is a 2005 V70 with a 5-speed automatic transmission and a 2.5L engine with the turbo. The odometer reads ~130k. Priced at $7000. On the surface, everything looks pretty good

MostVolvos will be reliable as long as they've been taken care of. I would suggest looking at the different specs of each model, and decide which one fits you best in terms of usage. I personally own a 2006 V50 T5 and I love the car, and it's been reliable, with almost 150k on the clock. singingbatman27 • 3 yr. ago.

Inthat photo was a green 1974 Volvo 144, which made me wonder if it was part of those 1000 legendary stolen Volvos I'd heard rumors about. It was, because those rumors are true. The A.V.
