Also, you have to be close when the last door closes, then walk away. Which door doesn't matter, it just depends on who has the fob in their pocket.

I had already unlocked the doors, but amazingly, it worked immediately locking, unlocking and starting the car.

The person with the key have to touch the doors first. If someone else tries to open the door before you, it won't work. This is a safety feature. Only the driver door and passenger door has keyless entry. The rear doors do not. Do not put your keys between any RFID signal blocking items.
